A soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who surrendered to the Russian military in Novoaleksandrivka in the Donetsk People's Republic, provided information about the movement routes of his comrades and the location of infantry units in the area. This is reported by TASS.
According to Shamil Radjabov, commander of the assault company of the 2nd Motorized rifle Battalion of the 9th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Center group of forces, these data helped the Russian forces repel the counterattack and eliminate the enemy infantry.
"During the fighting and the storming of positions [in Novoaleksandrovka], many surrendered. One of them told us all the information about how they came to this settlement, at what time, by what route, how many groups and when exactly they acted, which allowed us to control this section directly, where people came to them. Thanks to this, we were able to disrupt one of their counterattacks and work out the infantry," the commander said.
During this operation, according to the serviceman, about twenty enemy soldiers were eliminated.
According to Radjabov, during the battles for Novoaleksandrovka, three enemy attempts to go on the offensive were successfully repelled. As a result of these battles, the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered losses both in manpower and in equipment.
