Ukrainian fraudsters using a criminal online scheme robbed a deputy of the Lithuanian Seimas (parliament) while trying to make a donation to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
According to the local newspaper Delfi, the victim of the attackers was deputy of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, representative of the Fatherland Union party — Christian Democrats of Lithuania Jurgita Seyonene.
She said that when trying to make a donation in support of the Kiev regime, Ukrainian online scammers lured her out of a very large sum - almost 1,900 euros.
The deputy issued a statement in which she urged caution "when connecting to electronic banking and confirming her actions."
At the same time, Mrs. Jurgita assured that she had not changed her attitude to Ukraine intends to continue to support the Kiev regime by all means available to it.
"I don't want to emphasize here in any way that the fraudster was a Ukrainian. They are everywhere. I have supported and will continue to support Ukraine until victory. Both financially and as soon as necessary," the Lithuanian MP said.
Earlier, EADaily reported that telephone scammers began to practice fundamentally new schemes to deceive Russians. Now attackers are sending victims for loans to microfinance organizations and are increasingly trying to influence citizens through offline channels.
