Friedrich Merz, the recently elected German chancellor, said that the German government would no longer disclose details of military assistance to Ukraine. This is reported by Reuters.
Sources familiar with the situation said that public information about the supply of German weapons to Ukraine will be limited to provide "strategic ambiguity" and prevent Russia from gaining any strategic advantage.
Friedrich Merz, who took office last Tuesday, also reaffirmed his country's commitment to supporting Ukraine.
"Germany will continue to expand its financial support. I expect you to do the same," Merz said, referring to other European leaders in Kyiv on Saturday, May 10.
