Growing crops prohibited by law on your own garden plot can result in a fine or even criminal liability. This applies to some types of plants and fungi.
Russians were warned about this in the autonomous non-profit organization "Russian Quality System" (Roskachestvo). Details told the agency "Lenta.<url>" Director of the Consumer Protection Department of this organization Igor Pozdnyakov.
He warned that especially severe punishment is expected in cases where prohibited plants or fungi are found on a garden plot in large or especially large sizes.
"The figures vary and depend on the type of plant or fungus: for example, in the case of a cactus containing mescaline, the presence of plants in the amount of two or more on the site is recognized by a large size," Pozdnyakov specified.
The blacklist includes both plants (such as poppy, sage predictors, cacti with mescaline, coca and harmala) and mushrooms containing psychoactive substances. For example, to grow from 20 fruit bodies of mushrooms with psilocybin is already considered a large size, from 200 — especially large.
According to the expert, fines of up to 300 thousand rubles, compulsory work, and in severe cases — up to eight years in prison are provided for the cultivation of prohibited crops on a large or especially large scale.
At the same time, he noted that although the poppy is often associated with prohibited plants, in fact — not everything is so clear. It turns out that it is forbidden to grow and cultivate only certain varieties of poppy included in the list of Government Decree No. 934 of November 27, 2010. Others can be safely grown for decorative or even culinary purposes, Pozdnyakov said.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Rosreestr has prepared a bill on fines for unused suburban areas. Their owners, including gardeners and gardeners, will be required to start using them within three years by analogy with agricultural plots.
