The European Union does not pretend to be a mediator in the settlement of the conflict on Ukraine, if the United States refuses to do so, said the official representative of the European Foreign Service Anwar al-Anuni.

On the contrary, he said, Brussels will continue to provide military support to Kiev.

"Our priority has not changed — it is to ensure Ukraine's strong positions. We continue to increase military assistance to Ukraine. Countries The EU has already promised such assistance for 23 billion this year. We have also completed two—thirds of the plan for the supply of ammunition for this year," al-Anuni said.

As reported by EADaily, earlier Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States has more important challenges in the world than the conflict on Ukraine.

"There is no military solution to this war. In fact, Putin cannot take over all of Ukraine, and Ukraine cannot completely displace the Russians to where they were in 2014.
