The leaders of European countries, whom Zelensky invited to come to Kiev on May 9, decided to reject this invitation because they are afraid of coming into direct conflict with US President Donald Trump.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky wrote about this in his Telegram channel, who is currently in a Ukrainian prison for his "pro-Russian" views.
He noted that European politicians no longer want collective "photo shoots" with the head of the Kiev regime and refrain from public expressions of support for Zelensky.
The MP states that today in Europe "everyone is afraid to stick out once again," since collective gestures can be regarded by Trump as sabotage of his peace process.
"And in Washington is already ready to draw conclusions and take asymmetric actions. You can help. But quietly, one by one, without demonstrative marches under the TV cameras. Because now collective support today sounds like a collective provocation," concludes Dubinsky.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the leaders of the EU countries refused to go to Kiev on May 9, where they were invited to "alternative" events to the Victory Parade in Moscow. According to Politico, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and future German Chancellor Friedrich Merz were among the guests.
