The funeral of the deceased Pope Francis took place last weekend. And on Friday, April 25, without the participation of the media in The Vatican Basilica hosted the closing ceremony of the papal coffin. But the media became interested in an interesting detail of the funeral — a bag was buried with Francis, the contents of which became the subject of many disputes.
The ceremony was led by camerlengo (one of the highest positions existing at the Holy See — EADaily) Cardinal Kevin Farrell. Then the papal master of ceremonies, Archbishop Diego Giovanni Ravelli, covered Francis's face with a white silk veil and placed a bag in the coffin.
It turned out that the bag contained papal coins and medals, as well as a biography written in Latin, the so-called rogitum. Interestingly, in the biography of the deceased Francis was called a "pilgrim of hope."
EADaily previously also informed that the Vatican violated protocol by seating Zelensky in the 1st row at the Pope's funeral.
