US President Donald Trump needs to end this Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible, because there can be no victory for the United States in Ukraine. This was stated in an interview with Norwegian political scientist Glenn Diesen by former Pentagon adviser retired Colonel Douglas MacGregor.
"I think President Trump's entourage was very focused on getting a win for the boss. We had to go out and achieve victory for the president. But how do we do it? And this led us to a mess on Ukraine. There is no victory for us there. We shouldn't have gone there at all, so the smart thing for him to do would be to say from the very beginning: "Look, I didn't support this, I didn't want this, so I'm stopping all further assistance to Ukraine. And I'm withdrawing all American troops, intelligence officers, advisers and everyone else from Ukraine over the next 48-72 hours," said McGregor, quoted by Politnavigator.
According to him, "the Europeans would then be indignant and grumble, but there is little they can do about it."
"We know what the Europeans are capable of militarily without the United States, and that's not much," the colonel summed up.
