Russia does not demand Zelensky's resignation, but his signature can be challenged — The Kremlin

The resignation of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, is not among Russia's demands in the negotiations on Ukraine, however, any documents signed by him may subsequently be challenged due to his illegitimacy.

This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov in an interview with the French edition of Le Point. Thus, he answered the question about the demands for Zelensky's resignation.

"This condition is not among our requirements, but even if the agreement with Zelensky was signed today, later in Ukraine people could come forward and legally challenge its legitimacy," the Kremlin spokesman said.

He noted that Moscow does not trust Kiev, but understands that the situation for holding elections on the Ukraine is unfavorable. In the situation of the impossibility of holding elections, the power in the country had to pass into the hands of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

Peskov also allowed an immediate ceasefire in the event that Ukrainian troops withdraw from the new Russian regions. We are talking about the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, which are part of Russia according to the Constitution.

As EADaily reported, earlier Dmitry Peskov commented on the actual breakdown of negotiations in London on Ukraine. According to him, the parties failed to bring their positions closer on some issues.
