Russia has denounced the agreement with Norway, Finland and Sweden on the Barents Sea in 2007. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The agreement provided for the creation of an International Barents Secretariat for the development of cooperation in the Barents/The Euro-Arctic region.
In addition, the Russian Federation withdraws from the 2008 agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention, preparedness and response to emergency situations concluded by the Barents Council countries/Euro-Arctic Region (BEAC).
BEAC includes Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden. Russia left it in 2023, RBC reports.
