The Ministry of Health of Crimea has appointed an inspection on the fact of providing medical care to a teenager who was in the Artek International children's center and died in the Yevpatoria medical organization "as part of departmental quality control and safety of medical activities."
"The situation with the provision of medical care to children in The Artek medical center with signs of acute respiratory viral infections is under the control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea," the ministry said.
According to the Abkhazian Herald, on the morning of April 11, Nart, along with other children from Abkhazia, arrived in Crimea by train. In Simferopol, doctors conducted a primary medical examination. Upon arrival at the Artek camp, the children were assigned to squads, underwent a secondary medical examination and began to get to know friends.
On the evening of April 12, Nart went to the medical center with a high fever. The doctor on duty decided to send him under observation. On the morning of April 13, it was decided to hospitalize the boy in the pediatric infectious diseases department of the Surf sanatorium, which was provided with the necessary equipment and medical staff during the covid period. Doctors helped him.
On the morning of April 15, the child's health deteriorated, and the ambulance team took him to Yevpatoria hospital, where the doctors of the intensive care unit did their best to save the life of the Nart.
"The management of the Artek camp condolences to the family and friends and is ready to provide all necessary assistance. We are providing all necessary assistance within the framework of the ongoing inspection by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea," the Artek MDC said.
