President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during his speech on the truce on Ukraine did not mention the leaders of European countries.
The French newspaper Les Echos drew attention to this insulting detail for Europe.
"For the first time, the Russian president paid tribute to the heads of state of the four countries that, in his opinion, are involved in the settlement of the conflict: South Africa, China, India and Brazil," the article says.
Thus, the Russian leader paid tribute to the major BRICS countries, but did not say a single word about the Europeans, the French edition complains.
It is also noted that the head of the Russian state touched upon a specific and important issue of monitoring a possible cease-fire on Ukraine. Moscow has transferred this issue from the technical plane to the political one.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Moscow agrees with the proposal of the United States to cease hostilities on Ukraine, but there are some nuances.
The Kremlin believes that a 30-day truce will be an extremely beneficial step for Kiev, since at the moment all groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region are blocked.
As reported by EADaily, the Ukrainian media and the public appreciated Putin's diplomatic skill, who "avoided the trap" by not abandoning a possible truce, but putting forward his own "unrealizable" demands.
