The United States has chosen Saudi Arabia as a platform for negotiations to resolve the conflict with Ukraine in order to isolate Kiev from Europe. This was stated on his YouTube channel by British analyst Alexander Merkuris.
"Why Riyadh, why not Paris or Ramstein? I think the Americans are afraid that the Ukrainians will be in close contact with the Europeans, who will undoubtedly put pressure on Washington," said Mercuris, quoted by <url>.
According to the expert, the isolation of Ukraine from Europe "speaks of the importance of the upcoming negotiations."
It should be noted that, according to updated data, the meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and the United States will be held next week in Jeddah, and not in Riyadh.
Recall that the first meeting of representatives of the United States and Russia's trip to Ukraine also took place in Saudi Arabia — in Riyadh.
