Orlen has discovered new natural gas fields in the Greater Poland Voivodeship near Yarotsina. This is reported by the Polish edition Gazeta.Pl .
"Exploration and discovery of new deposits are part of our strategy," said Orlen Board member for Mining.
We are talking about the discovery of new natural gas fields in the village of Sedlemin near Yarocin, whose resources amount to almost a quarter of a billion cubic meters. The field is being developed as part of a joint project of Orlen SA and Orlen Upstream Polska at a depth of about three kilometers.
The company said that, thanks to the developed mining infrastructure, a quick start of production will be possible in the region.
"In accordance with our declarations, we are maximizing production in Poland needs to use all available opportunities," said Veslav Prugar, member of the Orlen Mining Board.
Prugar also added that the discovery of a field near Yarotsin confirms "the strong position of Greater Poland on the energy map."
