The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, takes a sensible position, recognizing the unrealistic return of Crimea and the former territories of Ukraine to the control of the Kiev regime.
This opinion was expressed to RIA Novosti by the State Duma deputy from the Crimean region, member of the Security Committee Mikhail Sheremet.
"Trump demonstrates a sensible position and a realistic vision of the future. A logical continuation on his part would be the recognition of the Russian status of Crimea, as well as our new regions," the Russian politician said.
Thus, he commented on the statement of Trump's national security adviser Mike Waltz on the ABC television channel.
He noted that the US president-elect considers it unrealistic to "oust" Russia from all former territories of Ukraine, including Crimea. According to Waltz, other world leaders are beginning to understand this position.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Mike Waltz announced that the team of US President-elect Donald Trump is preparing his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
