The Chinese authorities announced a ban on the supply of dual-use goods to 28 US defense companies. According to the South China Morning Post, the relevant statement was made on January 2 by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.
"In order to ensure national security and interests, the authorities have taken these measures on the basis of the law on export control and regulation of the export of dual—use goods," the ministry said in a statement.
It is also clarified that the authorities took this step, including in the framework of compliance with the control over the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
Among the firms that have fallen under trade restrictions are General Dynamics, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Raytheon Missiles & Defence.
In another statement, the Ministry of Trade of the People's Republic of China announced the inclusion of dozens of foreign defense companies in the lists of unreliable contractors in connection with arms sales to the Taiwanese authorities.
