The Azerbaijani authorities intend to change the rules of stay of Russian citizens on the territory of this country in the near future.
The corresponding statement was made by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic Aykhan Hajizade. It is published by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
The speaker stressed that the changes are being introduced as a response to the measures taken by the Russian side, tightening the period of stay of foreigners on its territory. According to Hajizade, these actions of Moscow are considered in Baku in the context of the rights of Azerbaijani citizens.
"The Azerbaijani side will proceed from the principles of parity and reciprocity in matters of temporary stay and migration," the spokesman said.
Recall that from January 1, the rules of stay in Russian foreigners who are subject to a visa-free regime. The period during which they can stay in the country is shortened. Now it will be 90 days for a year (now this period is 90 days for 180 days).
