Before leaving office, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, commuted the death sentences of most of the forty prisoners sentenced to death sentenced under federal law. This is reported by the Russian Air Force Service.
"Instead, they will serve a life sentence without the right to early release. Donald Trump will not be able to reverse this decision when he takes office in January," the report says.
It is noted that the pardon applies to all federal death row inmates, except for three convicted of terrorism or mass murder motivated by hatred. Among them is Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who staged an explosion at the Boston Marathon in 2013.
