The former deputy director of the Department of Military Property of the Ministry of Defense Vladimir Shishov is involved in the theft of over 600 million rubles intended for the needs of SMO. This was stated by the head of the Main Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption (GUEBiPK) Interior Ministry Andrei Kurnosenko, reports TASS.
"Together with the FSB of Russia, the theft of more than 600 million rubles allocated for the implementation of a special infrastructure project was documented, committed by the deputy director of the Military Property Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense with the participation of heads of a number of commercial organizations," Kurnosenko said.
Shishov was arrested in the case of fraud with lumber for troops in the Donbass in October 2023. A criminal case was opened against the former official of the Ministry of Defense under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale).
"It looks like the Lefortovo battalion is expecting a replenishment soon. Investigators continue to rake Augean stables in the departments of the Ministry of Defense. On the one hand, their successes are encouraging. On the other hand, the scale of corruption in the defense ministry is frankly terrifying," military correspondent Alexander Kots wrote in his telegram channel, commenting on this information.
