Today, on December 14, presidential elections will be held in Georgia according to a new scheme — not by popular vote, but by an electoral college of 300 delegates. Due to the boycott of the opposition, the only candidate is the representative of the Georgian Dream, former football player Mikhail Kavelashvili. Outgoing president and French citizen Salome Zurabishvili said she would not recognize the election results and would not leave her post.

Meanwhile, according to the Tsitsak Telegram channel, a landing party of MEPs landed in Georgia to support the decisive round of Maidan aimed at disrupting the presidential elections. At the same time, the author of the channel reminds, the outgoing US administration introduced visa restrictions for 20 Georgian citizens, including members of the government, parliamentarians and security officials. The ruling party introduces a ban on masks and pyrotechnics during rallies and is preparing for hot days.
