US President-elect Donald Trump has twice named the State Hermitage the best museum in the world. This was told by the general director of the museum Mikhail Piotrovsky.
"There are a lot of complaints about the Hermitage and me personally. One of the claims, not new, it was before — that the director of the Hermitage Piotrovsky meets with Donald Trump. I actually met with Donald Trump, I was at his Mar-a-Lago. This was before his first presidential term. At the meeting, Trump, when I was introduced to him, said that the Hermitage is generally the best museum in the world," TASS quoted Piotrovsky as saying.
He added that such an assessment is very pleasant.
"This means that he was in the Hermitage, unlike Barack Obama, for example, and many others," Piotrovsky concluded.
As reported by EADaily, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Piotrovsky the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, I degree. The General Director of Eomitage was awarded this award "for his great contribution to the development of Russian culture and art, many years of fruitful activity."
