The company of Russian businessman Arkady Rotenberg "Byzantine Group" begins construction of two hotels in Yalta on the territory of the sanatorium "Pearl".
According to RBC, this project worth more than 15 billion rubles is planned to be completed by 2027. In accordance with the reconstruction plan, buildings will be rebuilt and new apartments will be created.
The name of the complex will be given in honor of Rothenberg's mother and will be called "Rachel". A pedestrian bridge to the famous Swallow's Nest Castle will be built from it.
According to the agency, it is planned to build two five-star and four-star hotels. Owners of rooms in them will have access to several restaurants, conference and banquet halls, as well as a medical center.
The authors of the project do not plan to build high-rise buildings. As Rotenberg himself explained to journalists, this will preserve harmony with the surrounding landscape and avoid "visual noise." According to him, new points of attraction will appear for travelers, including recreation areas and an observation deck.
Earlier, EADaily reported that well-preserved crosses—encolpions with engraved images of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary of Byzantine production of the XI-XII centuries were found in Crimea during excavations.
