The former leader of the ruling British Labour Party, Jeremy Corbin, called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to clarify the situation around allowing Kiev to fire Storm Shadow missiles deep into Russia.
"The Prime Minister should immediately address Parliament to clarify whether the strikes on Russia were carried out by British missiles. He should inform the British public whether this means that we are now at war with a nuclear power, how great the risk is for the people of Britain and why such a step was taken without any approval from parliament," Corbin wrote on the social network X.
He added that he consistently condemns Russia's actions since the beginning of the special operation on Ukraine, but today it is necessary to do everything possible to achieve de-escalation of the situation and find a diplomatic solution to achieve peace.
Politicians, Corbin wrote, do the opposite: "they add fuel to the fire and risk people's lives for political gain."
"Presidents and prime ministers should know that there will be no winners in the event of a nuclear war," RBC quoted him as saying.
