Susan Wiles will become the chief of staff of the future Donald Trump administration, for the first time this position will be occupied by a woman, the Republican transition team said.
"Suzy is strong, smart, modern, respected and revered. She will continue to work tirelessly to make America great again," Trump quotes his transition team.
Trump stressed that for the first time this position will be occupied by a woman.
From the point of view of doing business, the position that the 67-year-old Wiles will take is key, although the official will rarely appear in the public field.
The previous Trump administration was criticized for a significant gender advantage in favor of men, there were only three women in ministerial positions in his administration, not including the director of the CIA, one of them worked until 2019, and the other two resigned after storming the Capitol in January 2021.
Following the results of the presidential elections held on November 5, Republican Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris and became president-elect. The outgoing administration will transfer matters to a new cabinet, and Trump will take office on January 20.
