Following the customs of Kazakhstan, the United States takes control of the customs of Uzbekistan

The customs offices of Uzbekistan and the United States signed an agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance, reports gazeta.uz . Thus, Uzbekistan became the 18th country with which the United States signed an agreement providing for the expansion of information exchange.

According to official information, within the framework of the signed agreement, the parties intend to expand cooperation in the exchange of customs information and the fight against money laundering, avoidance of customs duties, drug trafficking, human trafficking and transnational criminal groups.

It is noted that the United States had previously signed a similar agreement with 17 countries.

Earlier it was reported that the US Agency for International Development (USAID), in accordance with the signed agreement with the government of Kazakhstan, installed American computer servers at the customs posts of the republic to track goods passing through the border.

Many Kazakhstani experts agreed that this was done in order to monitor Kazakhstan's compliance with anti-Russian sanctions.
