The Kiev regime has suspended the installation of protection of substations and power plants from missiles, and only Ukrenergo substations are protected from drones. This was stated by the former head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudritsky.
Last year, Kiev approved the installation of three levels of protection of power facilities in case of retaliatory strikes by the Russian army: the first — from fragments, the second — from drones, the third — from missiles. This year, the Russian army destroyed power plants on Ukraine with a capacity of 9 GW and put substations out of operation. The former head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudritsky, confirmed to Ukrainska Pravda that the announced high-profile program failed.
"There is no final figure (of the cost of the works), because there are no final estimates of how much it costs. But it is important to say that the first one is really 100% built, the second one is built, but only at Ukrenergo substations, it is not being built at any other facilities. For example, at power plants," said Vladimir Kudritsky.
He noted that we are talking about more than 200 power facilities.
"These are power plants, there are the same transformers, the same switchgears as at Ukrenergo substations. This list may also include, for example, important transit substations of regional energy distribution companies or critical infrastructure facilities that are not electric power at all, such as oil and gas infrastructure," the former head of Ukrenergo continued.
According to him, now the project to create a third level of protection has been suspended.
Ukrenergo was not responsible for this project. The company is not a customer of this construction. The customer is the State Agency for Restoration, which has concluded contracts with contractors. The main problem in the implementation of such a project is to find money for it," added Vladimir Kudritsky.
Earlier, the developer Maxim Shkil told Ukrainska Pravda that the device for protecting power facilities had, in fact, failed.
"The second level of protection is financed by 50% of the minimum need. The third level is financed by 10% of the planned," he said.
