The film "The Redhead" directed by Semyon Serzin about the Ural poet Boris the Redhead has not received a new rental certificate, it will not be released on September 12, as previously planned. This was announced by the Pioneer rental company.

"The issuance of a new rental certificate has been refused. Dear colleagues and friends, we are very sorry," the message says.

In early September, the film's screenings were canceled in several Russian cities. So, there were no screenings in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. All the sites where the picture was planned to be shown reported the cancellation of the sessions for reasons beyond their control.

The Pioneer company said that "there are some problems with the film, but we can't comment on anything yet." It was also noted that "there are problems with the rental certificate, but they are solvable."

The telegram channel "Behind the Scenes" writes that there were no prerequisites for not issuing a rental certificate for the official release on September 12 at all.

"Everything is much simpler and nastier. To be honest," the publication says.

It is specified that the series of "pre-premiere screenings" was supposed to take place from September 3 to September 11.

"A dozen sessions in different places, and all without permission. These are public screenings. Some shows with ticket sales. All this, alas, is a violation of the law. The rules are the same for everyone," explains the telegram channel.

Boris Ryzhy was born in Chelyabinsk in 1974, then moved to Yekaterinburg. He worked as a junior researcher at the Institute of Geophysics. Ryzhy's poems have been published in many literary magazines. In 2001, when the poet was 26 years old, he committed suicide.

The film "The Redhead" by Semyon Serzin tells about young poets of the 90s in Yekaterinburg who are trying to earn a living by literary creativity. The main role in the film went to the vocalist of the groups "Waste Paper" and "Night Movers" Yevgeny Alekhine, Taisiya Vilkova, Yevgeny Tkachuk and Yevgeny Serzin also starred in the film.
