The cost of electricity for Ukraine on Saturday from Slovakia made up a maximum of 400 euros per MWh at the auction. Ukrainian enterprises had to pay so much for imports at the peak of the day.
The price of electricity imports from Slovakia at 12.00−14.00 on August 24 will be 400 euros per MWh. Such data is provided by the specialized Ukrainian telegram channel TOK with reference to the results of the daily auction on the distribution of capacity of interstate crossings.
Judging by the data, the price has increased due to capacity limitations. They will be reduced from 9.00 to 16.00. Then the price for the entire period will be above 120 euros per MWh and within two hours will reach 400 euros per MWh.
Perhaps the restrictions are related to the heat and high electricity consumption in the European Union itself. The thermometer will rise in Slovakia on the afternoon of August 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
"In general, on August 24, imports from Slovakia can reach a maximum of 2,000 MWh, while the allocated capacity as of August 23 is 6.1 thousand. MW-h," the ExPro publication already reports.
According to his calculations, since the beginning of August from Slovakia was imported to Ukraine 99 GWh. Share of imports from Slovakia reaches about 20%.
Ukraine actively imports electricity from Moldova and EU countries, but in July this was not enough to avoid power outages throughout the country around the clock. This week, restrictions resumed in the country.
After retaliatory strikes by the Russian army, Ukraine's energy system lost 9 GW of power plant capacity — almost half. The Ukrainian authorities have already ordered mobile operators to switch their stations to continuous autonomous operation at 10 o'clock. Such outages are expected on Ukraine in winter due to lack of capacity.
