The advance of the enemy deep into the Kursk region is not allowed — Ministry of Defense

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has published an official statement on the situation in the combat area in the Kursk region.

The corresponding text was published on Wednesday, August 7, on the official resources of the military department. It says that the fighting lasted all last night.

"Units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border authorities of the FSB of Russia, continued to destroy armed formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the Kursk region directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border," the report says.

It is noted that air strikes, missile forces, artillery fire and active actions of the units covering the State border of the grouping of troops in the Kursk direction prevented the enemy from advancing deep into the territory of the Russian Federation.

In addition, enemy reserves were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Basovka, Zhuravka, Yunakovka, Belovody, Kiyanitsa, Korchakovka, Novaya Sich, Pavlovka, Gorodishche of Sumy region.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the enemy's losses during the day of hostilities amounted to 260 militants and 50 armored vehicles, including seven tanks, eight armored personnel carriers, three infantry fighting vehicles, 31 armored combat vehicles, including 12 Kozak, two Stryker, a barrier engineering vehicle and six vehicles.

Two Buk M1 anti-aircraft missile self-propelled launchers, an UR-77 mine clearance unit and an electronic warfare station were also destroyed. The operation to destroy the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues.

Earlier, EADaily reported that, according to independent sources, the troops of the Kiev regime are trying to develop an offensive on Kurchatov, where the Kursk NPP is located.
