At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games-2024 in In Paris, the famous flag with five rings was raised upside down.

Raising the flag was part of the presentation, which for the first time in the history of the Games was not held at the stadium. The parade of delegations was held on the Seine River for the first time, the official and final part of the opening ceremony was held on Trocadero Square.

The flag to the stage located at the Eiffel Tower was delivered by a mysterious character — a rider in silver armor. She handed over the Olympic banner to other participants of the event, who incorrectly hoisted it onto the flagpole and raised it upside down.

Russian and Belarusian athletes will compete in neutral status. According to the decision of the International Olympic Committee, they can only attend the opening ceremony as spectators. A total of 15 Russians and 17 Belarusians will perform in Paris.

As EADaily reported, the opening ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games ended in Paris. Artists such as Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura, Joe Duplantier, Celine Dion, Moulin Rouge dancers and others performed in different places on the Seine Embankment.
