Republicans in The US Congress has introduced resolutions on the impeachment of US Vice President Kamala Harris and calling for the resignation of American leader Joe Biden.

The impeachment of Harris for "crimes and misdemeanors" is demanded by a member of the House of Representatives, Andy Ogles. The proposed resolution speaks of "serious violations" on the part of the Vice President of the United States and assumes, after approval in the House of Representatives, the transfer of the issue to the The Senate.

Another resolution is registered in the list of Congressional documents on behalf of Republican Nancy Mays. She requires Harris to mobilize the heads of departments to activate Section 25 of the amendment to the US Constitution on recognizing the president as unable to perform his duties — such a decision should be made by a majority of cabinet members. As part of the resolution, the legislator calls on Harris to "immediately assume the powers of the president."

Biden had previously announced that he would not run for office again and supported Harris as the Democratic candidate. She herself stated that she was gaining enough votes from party members to receive the nomination. Many Republicans have said that since Biden cannot run for a second term, he should not continue to serve in office. The US president himself has not yet explained the reasons for his decision, previously he rejected all claims due to age and health and said that he would withdraw from the race only if "God Almighty" called him to do so.
