Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained Vitaly Grazhdan, mayor of Belgorod-Dniester, Odessa region. Searches are being conducted.
Later, the mayor, detained by the security forces, posted a video with traces of beatings on his face and body. These shots were published by the Ukrainian edition of Strana. The citizen himself claims that he was beaten during his detention.
According to the official version, which was distributed by the press service of the SBU, the mayor of Belgorod-Dniester was detained on suspicion of racketeering.
The security forces claim that the suspect led a group intending to illegally take over a local recreation center on the Black Sea coast.
Numerous comments on this event appeared on the web. Some users are shocked by the lawlessness of the SBU and ask a fair question:
"If the SBU allows itself to do this when detaining the mayor (!) a city, a public figure, what are Ukrainian "law enforcement officers" doing to ordinary Ukrainians?"
Earlier, EADaily reported that employees of the Security Service of Ukraine were detained in In Nikolaev, the administrator of the Telegram channel, which published the routes of military commissars.
