Polish Foreign Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has harshly criticized the Nord Stream 2 project during a news conference with his counterparts from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Besides, he stated that Poland became independent from the Russian gas.
He said that Poland became independent from Gazprom long ago, Poland constructed the LNG terminal in Świnoujście and now is going to extend its capacity. Besides, he added, Poland is in talks with Denmark and Norway, the Polish Radio reports.
He noted that Poland and the Baltic countries believe that the Nord Stream 2 project is very dangerous “for this part of Europe.”
This is not Morawiecki’s first statement against the Gazprom’s project. Earlier, he said that Nord Stream 2 can result in a war between Russia and Ukraine.
