All the courage of the EU countries ready to fight with Russia even today comes from the fact that they consider themselves covered by the USA and NATO, but there are no guarantees. This was stated by Senator Alexei Pushkov.
So he commented on the demands of a number of European countries to deprive the IOC of funding because of its decision on Russia.
"The nine European countries that have called for the IOC to stop funding because of its decision on Russia form the core of the EU countries most hostile to Russia. These are entirely small and medium-sized countries of the North and Eastern Europe, who are beating their chests and shouting that even today they are ready to fight with Russia, but if this happens, they will immediately run to whine and demand from (Donald) Trump wants the United States to protect them from the "terrible Russians." All their courage and determination is because they consider themselves covered by the United States and NATO. But there are no guarantees of this. That's what they need to think about. But, apparently, there are not enough brains," Pushkov writes in his telegram channel.
As reported by EADaily, Estonia does not dictate to whom and what to finance. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
She commented on Estonia's demand to deprive the IOC of European funding due to the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions.
