Three out of four foreigners in Poland are Ukrainians. This is evidenced by the published experimental data of the Main Statistical Office of Poland (GUS).
It is reported that by the end of 2025, about 38 million 800 thousand people lived in Poland. The number of foreign citizens was about 2 million 300 thousand inhabitants of the country. At the same time, the press secretary of the chairman of GUS Krzysztof Jedlak noted that 73% of all foreigners in Poland are citizens of Ukraine - about 1.675 million.
"Many people think that a lot of Ukrainians have left. But, as experimental data show when comparing indicators for the end of 2025 and 2024, their number, on the contrary, has increased. In addition, foreigners, including citizens of Ukraine, are still concentrated mainly in large cities. That's where they mostly live," Yedlyak said.
Most of the citizens of Ukraine lived in Mazovian voivodeship — 346 thousand people, as well as in the Lower Silesian voivodeship — 237 thousand people.
In addition, it is noted that at the end of 2025 there were about 179.3 thousand citizens of Belarus in the country. Over the year, they have increased by 5.1%. At the same time, GUS emphasizes that this is not official population statistics, but an experimental analysis. It does not take into account how long a person has been in Poland and whether he left the country for some time.
