At the NATO summit in Turkey, the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, Tomio Okamura, broke the applause by proposing to seek a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. He announced this in his social networks.

"I am currently at the NATO summit in Turkey and have just said in my speech to the chairmen of the parliaments of all NATO member countries that it is necessary to strive for the end of the war in Ukraine and for peace... [A bad world, in my opinion, is better than no world. In my opinion, after a few years, there is no military solution to this conflict, and we should focus entirely on diplomacy. As for the pressure to dramatically increase spending on armaments, I first of all said that defense spending should take into account current capabilities, as well as current national needs, and not just be reduced to a percentage. And, surprisingly, in the end, the whole hall applauded me," said the Czech politician, quoted by Solovyov Live.
