Russia launches serial production of an air bomb Russia is entering serial production of an air bomb with a universal planning and correction module (UMPC) with a range of up to 200 kilometers. This was stated to RBC — Ukraine by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadim Skibitsky.
According to Skibitsky, during September — October, Russia developed and has now entered the consistent combat trial use of aerial bombs with new UMPC, which allow strikes to a distance of about 200 km and increase noise immunity against Ukrainian air defense systems.
"We saw the first such strikes on the Dnieper (Dnepropetrovsk. — EADaily), now we see this in other cities," said a representative of the GUR.
These bombs are called "Thunder-1" or "Thunder-2", but the bottom line is that the combat radius of their use is 150-200 km, he said. The latest tests showed up to 193 km, Skibitsky added.
As reported by EADaily, the Russian Armed Forces for the first time struck an air bomb with a unified planning and correction module (UMPC) in the city of Lozovaya. This was reported by the prosecutor's office of the Kharkiv region. It was noted that the bomb covered 130 km.
