The head of the Department of agricultural, food and road construction engineering of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Valentin Tsuprun was detained by the Investigative Committee on June 26.
The Ministry confirmed the detention of Tsuprun, stressing that the agency actively assists the investigating authorities. The official was detained on suspicion of corruption. The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that they adhere to zero tolerance for such crimes.
The department, which was headed by Tsuprun, is engaged in the development of state policy and regulatory regulation in the supervised industries, RBC clarifies. The Department also administers several financial support programs for machinery and equipment manufacturers
