Ukrainian drones attacked the panorama "Defense of Sevastopol 1854-1855", created by Franz Roubaud in 1901-1904, as a result, the building was engulfed in flames.
The governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev said that the fire was assigned the 4th rank of complexity.
"The situation is extremely difficult: it is already clear that the great masterpiece of Franz Roubaud is practically destroyed ...", — said Razvozzhaev.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Rescue Service of Sevastopol and other departments are working on the site — a total of 83 people and 22 pieces of equipment.
"There are no dead or injured there. <> While the fire is being extinguished," the government representative said, "the regional government indicated.
Panorama is considered one of the main symbols of Sevastopol. During the Great Patriotic War, the building has already experienced serious damage after air raids.
The panorama "Defense of Sevastopol 1854-1855" was created by Franz Roubaud in 1901-1904. The official website of the museum-reserve states that the building is closed for restoration until 2027.
