The head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina missed the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. As the press service of the Central Bank told RBC, the reason for this is the official sick leave.
The chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, Andrei Makarov, who moderated the macro session, where Nabiullina's speech was expected, confirmed that she could not participate for objective reasons.
Thus, the disappearance of the head of the regulator from the forum program received an official explanation. Earlier, her name was removed from the list of speakers of the session "How to return to the trajectory of sustainable economic growth in the face of global uncertainty," and on the sidelines of the event they called another reason — the death of the adviser to the chairman of the Central Bank Alexei Mozhin.
