Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to the participants of the first International Security Forum, which is being held in Moscow on May 26-29. He stressed that the main dangers today are international terrorism, the risks of nuclear proliferation, extremism, drug trafficking and cybercrime.
"As before, international terrorism, the risks of uncontrolled proliferation of nuclear weapons, extremism, drug trafficking and cybercrime pose a serious danger to all states without exception," the head of state said in a video message.
Putin drew attention to the fact that today, when the world is facing serious challenges, such representative global-level meetings are especially in demand.
"The modern world is interdependent and interconnected, so the escalation of tension in certain regions has an adverse effect on the entire world community," the Russian head of state said. "I would like to stress that we stand for the closest possible cooperation in ensuring both regional and global stability in a comprehensive manner, and for observing the principle of equal and indivisible security."
