The Russian military has developed an effective means of combating enemy drones. According to RIA Novosti with reference to the operator of the 11th Army Corps of the North grouping with the call sign Green, the Curtain interceptor drone, created on the basis of the Sych UAV, is capable of finding and neutralizing Ukrainian drones.
The key feature of the novelty is control via fiber optic cable. This makes the device completely invisible to the enemy's electronic reconnaissance equipment and invulnerable to suppression systems. According to the fighter, this design opens up great opportunities for additional equipment of the drone.
Initially, the "Curtain" was conceived as a ground station, but later it was adapted for installation on a drone. At the moment, the device has successfully completed about ten sorties, having spent a total of about 20 hours in the air.
