Russia has no plans to undermine strategic stability, which is why it warned the whole world about the tests of the Sarmat missile system.
This was stated to RIA Novosti by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. He pointed out that this practice existed before, when countries did not hide activities related to the appearance of strategic range systems in the arsenal.
"I am not authorized to disclose the details of this, but I want to say that in all such situations, Moscow is driven, among other things, by the awareness and understanding that we should not undermine strategic stability," the deputy minister said.
He also noted that Moscow ironically records the West's ostentatious disregard for the successful tests of the Sarmat missile system. According to Ryabkov, NATO countries demonstrate "quasi-indifference."
"We perceive this with irony, because we understand not worse, but better than others, what the upcoming commissioning of this system means," the diplomat stressed.
According to him, the Russian side does not need any reaction from Western opponents at all, since Moscow is already aware that there are no analogues of Sarmat in the whole world.
As EADaily reported, a successful launch of the newest Sarmat rocket was carried out earlier. This was reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 12 by the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces (Strategic Missile Forces). Sergey Karakaev.
