The United States has unexpectedly increased purchases of Russian instant coffee. From January to March 2026, the import of this product from the Russian Federation has more than tripled. According to the American statistical service, in three months the United States purchased freeze-dried coffee from Russia for 641.9 thousand dollars. This is 3.5 times more than in the same period last year. Details are provided by the publication "Prime".
However, in March deliveries decreased by almost a quarter — to 191.4 thousand dollars.
At the same time, the States reduced purchases of roasted chicory, a coffee substitute, by 15% (up to 13.8 thousand dollars). But in March there was a jump here: an increase of 41% by February and by 20% in annual terms — up to 3.4 thousand dollars. Nevertheless, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil remain the main suppliers of instant coffee to the American market. And the chicory of the USA is mainly purchased from France, India and Poland.
