In response to the massive attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on oil terminals and refineries, the Russian army strikes gas production at Ukraine. Naftogaz reports numerous attacks and damage.
"Russia is increasing the number of attacks on Naftogaz's production facilities," the national company of Ukraine reports.
Five facilities in Sumy and Kharkiv regions were hit per day and production processes had to be stopped due to equipment damage, the national company explained.
"This complicates preparations for winter, and we are doing everything possible to minimize the consequences," Naftogaz said.
The day before, the company reported that for two days in a row the Russian army was hitting mining facilities in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions.
"The day before, a gas production facility in the Kharkiv region was hit — damage to equipment was recorded," Naftogaz cited an example.
As EADaily reported, Ukraine has stopped importing gas since April 1, obviously due to the end of contracts and credit funds for gas. Therefore, gas is pumped into storage facilities at the expense of its own production. At the same time, a low pace will allow the country, in the absence of retaliatory strikes, to create minimum reserves of 13 billion cubic meters.
According to GIE, on the last day of the two-day attacks, gas injection into the UGS of Ukraine fell to zero. Whether this is due to a drop in production is unknown. It is known that on May 3, the replenishment of stocks has already amounted to more than 20 million cubic meters, which roughly corresponds to the average level of injection.
