First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, President of the Gymnastics Federation of the Republic Mehriban Aliyeva, together with Olympic champion and two-time world champion Alina Kabayeva, watched the competitions of the European Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics, which took place on May 3 at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
The Russians performed in a neutral status in Azerbaijan.
As part of the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup, the athletes demonstrated their skills in group and individual programs.
Along with representatives of Azerbaijan, athletes from 30 countries took part in the competitions.
In the cross-battle team competition, Russian athletes managed to win bronze medals.
Gold went to athletes from Bulgaria. The second place went to the Israeli team. Earlier, the representative of this country Daniela Munitz beat the Ukrainian Taisiya Onofriychuk in the fight for the gold medal in the single cross-battle. In this discipline, Russian athletes Maria Borisova and Arina Kovshova failed to compete for medals.
