The American side did not allow Russian representatives to attend the spring meetings of the Bretton Woods Institutions on the eve of the G20 summit. This was stated by the director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Birichevsky during a meeting of the International Council for Cooperation and Investment.
One member of the delegation was excluded from participating in the events, despite the fact that the Americans made a visa and even issued a participant badge.
"And then it turned out that the approval stages had not passed. In general, it was such an unpleasant incident, which suggests that the Americans are not able to fully honestly perform the presidential functions assigned to them," Birichevsky added.
He stressed that the Russian side had expressed a demarche to the Americans through bilateral channels.
"Let's hope that this will somehow affect them, because otherwise we will have to take tougher measures, including boycotting events, which will naturally affect the overall preparations for the summit," he concluded.
As reported by EADaily, it became known earlier that the United States sent an invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Miami in December of this year.
