The authorities of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia has officially opened its airspace to Ukrainian UAVs — for attacks on St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region and northwestern Russia, Mash reports.

"Earlier flights were allowed behind the scenes and individually, fearing a backlash," the report says.

For attacks on St. Petersburg Ukrainians use installations in the Chernihiv region. 850 km by air and flying over the Bryansk, Smolensk, Tver, Novgorod and Leningrad regions — it is almost impossible to reach the city, the newspaper notes.

The alternative route, which the Baltic countries have opened for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, includes a flyby of Belarus through Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and the Baltic Sea, it also gives open access to the Gulf of Finland and bypassing air defense systems in the regions, writes Mash.

Since March 22, more than 100 drones have been destroyed near St. Petersburg — a record figure for the entire time of SMO. The targets of drones were enterprises in Vyborg, as well as the port in Ust-Luga.

In Lithuania, on the night of March 24, a Ukrainian drone fell: according to the Lithuanian prime minister, the device went off course due to electronic warfare, and in general flew to Russia. In Latvia and Estonian authorities also confirmed that the wreckage of the UAV found the day before belonged to Ukraine.
