The Main Military Investigation Department of the RF IC has opened a criminal case against the head of the armored service of the Central Military District, Major General Denis Putilov, who is suspected of committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale).

According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, according to the investigation, in 2023, the Ministry of Defense, as part of the execution of the state defense order, concluded a number of government contracts for the repair and maintenance of military vehicles with the individual entrepreneur Chudinov. The execution of these contracts, the value of which exceeded 140 million rubles, was controlled by Putilov.

"In order to weaken control, obtain other privileges and preferences in the execution of the state defense order, as well as the conclusion of new contracts in the future, Putilov received a bribe from a representative IP Chudinov in the amount of 10 million rubles, "the department said.

They noted that Putilov was detained, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being resolved.

As part of the investigation of the criminal case, a legal assessment of the actions of the bribe giver will be given, the department added.

EADaily adds that Putilov became the seventh general of the Russian Defense Ministry arrested for bribes after the resignation of the head of the military department, Sergei Shoigu.
