The US administration has called on Ukraine to stop attacks on the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). It is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, the Ukrainian side received an appeal on Tuesday, July 21, according to a White House spokesman.
The Wall Street Journal links Washington's actions with attacks on civilian vessels in the Black Sea. The terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) is mainly used for the transportation of oil produced in Kazakhstan, as well as minor volumes of Russian oil.
About two percent of the world's oil is pumped through the pipeline. The consortium's shareholders include American corporations Chevron and ExxonMobil.
It should be noted that just a few days ago, Ukrainian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Viktor Maiko stated that the strikes on Kazakh tankers were a provocation by Russia, and Kiev had nothing to do with these events.
